Notes for BOBBIE JOE ROSSER:

Supposedly his mother died when he and his brother (Albert?) were young. Albert might have been his older brother, his twin supposedly died at birth? He was 5-6 years odl when his mother died and at first was placed with an Aunt before being sent to the orphanage. They also had two younger sisters.  They were placed in a Waxahachie orphanage and then removed at 11-15 years of age by their father, as they were then old enough to work on the farm.
The Waxahachie orphanage was supposedly closed by the state of Texas due to reports of brutality and misconduct. Obtained picture of dad and 2 sisters in orphanage group, van in picture has writing on side which would denote it to be the Baptist orphanage.

Dad went into the Army when he was 17 years old (had to have father sign permission to enter at that age). Lost his eye and sense of smell in auto accident when on R & R Served 2 yrs in Marines and 4 years in Air Force. Discharged after accident, rank was Seargent--Sr. Aircraft Instrument Specialist.
Accident occured close to Gonzales, Tx in April of 1951. He was stabilized in San Marcos and then taken to Brook Army, San Antonio, Tx--had lost his eye, and had severe head injury, from medical accounts was not a very co-operative patient, because of extent of injuries was honorably discharged Jan 1952,

Marriage note: listed as son of late Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Rosser of Waco and was a student at East Texas State College of Commerce in marriage announcement in Waco Tribune Herald [June 22, 1952]
