Dickinson's brother, Charles Dickinson was killed in a duel
with Andrew Jackson. Supposedly, Jackson visited the home Thomas
and Rebecca Daffin on his trips through the area before he was President.
Jackson befriended
Charles Dickinson and the two were pals for a while until some disagreements
turned the friendship sour and ended in the terrible tragedy as told by
