    My cousin, Ron Daffin of Corvova, Md. sent me some fantastic pictures that were taken around 1938/1939 of his grandfather and Dad working on their farm. I'll start my Album with these! They are the property of Ron and his family.

These are pictures of Jess W. Daffinís first and only WWII leave (furlough).  The date is 12/28/1941.  Jess didnít return home again until after WWII was over in 1945.  He died in a car accident in 1952 and had no children.

Jess W. Daffin won the Silver Star in the Philippines fighting the Japanese during WWII.  He served in the Gilbert Islands, Marshall Islands, Philippines, Saipan and Okinawa.  U.S. Army Artillery.

Jess W. Daffinís father was Arthur Franklin Daffin.  His brother was John A. Daffin Sr.ís, father of John A. Daffin, Jr and was my grandfather.  My father is John A. Daffin, Jr.  I am Ronald W. Daffin.
